On November 9, 2024 (Saturday), KOWAJA organized a Deepavali Celebration event with orphans and underprivileged children at Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Rumah Ozanam PJ was chosen as the venue for this year’s Deepavali celebration.
This welfare home is currently home to 14 children and teenagers aged between 7 and 17 years, managed by 5 staff members. Additionally, 35 registered single mothers also benefit from the facilities provided at Rumah Ozanam from time to time.
Donations in the form of essential food items, school supplies, and a little duit raya (festive money) helped brighten up the day and add joy to the atmosphere. KOWAJA also contributed a water filter to ensure the residents have access to clean and safe water for daily use.
The event, which took place from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, was attended by KOWAJA Board Members and staff, along with their families.
